New Work: Painting The Landscape
Winter brings a different 'feel' and array of colors for the artist's palette: soft silver, deep shades of burnt umber; Payne's gray, lavender pink sunsets, and much more. Some say winter is a dead time, but the truth is things are very much alive, although in a restive state, gearing up for the coming spring. Under snow, buds push against earth...peaceful changes, despite the seeming quietness of earth. It's been a brutal winter for many, myself included--yet on sunny afternoons, if possible, I work outside in the sun, grateful for a rare afternoon without ice or snow! Life continues on, my heart presses against the sky of winter. There's more art to be made.
